Heartbleed is an identified data security flaw associated with OpenSSL. Please be informed that Sterling's web application platform is based entirely on the Microsoft IIS technology stack. The Microsoft IIS technology stack does not use OpenSSL and is not subject to the Heartbleed vulnerability. All Sterling Infosystems’ platforms, including Screening Direct, Sterling Direct, and the BackCheck platforms leverage the same Microsoft technology stack.
