Dave Dinesen

Dave founded BackCheck in 1997 in response to growing demand throughout North America for background checks. Prior, he served as Co-Founder and Vice President of a large research and due diligence firm that saw him serving clients across the US and Canada. Dave speaks regularly at universities and conferences on the subject of background checks, specifically as they relate to human resource disciplines.
Dean Drysdale
Chairman of the Board & CFO
Dean holds an MBA from INSEAD and a PhD from Cass Business School at City University - London. He is a professor of business management at Kwantlen University College. He has extensive work experience in government at the federal, provincial and municipal levels including 2 years in the Prime Minister's office. He is a director on the Working Opportunity Fund, which is the largest venture capital firm in British Columbia. He has 10 years experience in corporate finance specializing in raising funds for high growth companies. Dean has served as an officer in the Canadian Army Reserve for 25 years, currently in the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
Ed DeBarros
Vice President - Sales & Business Development
Ed has over 25 years of Human Resources experience with expertise in staffing, compensation, employee development, HR policy and program development and employee relations. Ed has extensive experience working in key HR roles with client groups of various sizes and diverse business environments including manufacturing, sales, customer service and research and development. Ed was at Sun Microsystems over 14 years, most recently in a corporate employee relations role with responsibility for worldwide employee relations policy development. Prior to Sun, Ed was with Hewlett Packard, Apollo Computer, Data General and Berkshire Hathaway. Ed has a Bachelor degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
Stephen Dinesen
Vice President - Business & Technology Development
Stephen is an original member of the BackCheck team, having developed the client service delivery protocol, along with supporting software-based technology for service delivery. Mr. Dinesen is an active member of the business development team, and aims to support through technology ever increasing quality, speed and efficiency of service. Stephen has previously held the role of BackCheck General Manager and holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
Jeremy Hardern
Vice President - Technology
Jeremy Hardern started his career in the banking and financial industries, focusing on planning tools and techniques, and project management methodologies in information technology. Since joining BackCheck, Jeremy has concentrated on re-engineering core applications, building solutions for increased workflow efficiencies, and assisting in the development and deployment of new business processes. Jeremy’s primary objectives are to ensure that continuing operational activities and anticipated business growth are supported by a robust, scalable and secure technology base. Jeremy oversees IT Services, software development and business analysis teams.
Jenny Lang
Assistant Vice President - Operations
Jenny has been a member of the BackCheck team since June 2005, when she began as a Human Resources Interviewer and made her mark working on improving processes with more specialized clients. Jenny transitioned into a role where she handled quality assurance reviews, while still providing daily support to the operations teams. As quality assurance expanded, Jenny was promoted to Team Lead and soon to Department Head of Quality Assurance, where she was able to develop the QA team into an integral department within BackCheck. She currently oversees the daily functioning of the Surrey Operations Center. Jenny holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Psychology from Kwantlen University College.
