Dispute Resolution Instructions

Who is BackCheck?
BackCheck is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) as a “Nationwide Specialty Consumer Reporting Agency”. BackCheck collects, assembles, and reports public information regarding potential employees to our employer-clients for employment purposes only.

What are my rights?
The FCRA has published a document entitled “A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act”. You can download an Adobe PDF copy by clicking here. If you don't have Adobe, you can download a free copy by clicking here.

How do dispute my report?
If you believe there is an error in any area of the report that BackCheck provided to your potential employer, please carefully follow the steps below:

E-mail privacy@backcheck.net with the following details:

  • your full name
  • the name of the company you applied to,
  • the date that your BackCheck was processed
  • the reason for your dispute.

A privacy officer will be in touch with you shortly to explain the dispute resolution process. Please note, BackCheck must confirm your identity before a dispute resolution process can begin.
