A candidate to one of BackCheck's large retail clients was caught hiding information about his identity. After pulling the credit report, an additional employer was shown that did not appear on their resume. BackCheck performed an employment verification that turned out to be quite negative. This employer was not listed on the candidate’s resume, nor the application forms. Unfortunately for the candidate, the individual who verified employment happened to be the candidate’s manager at two places of employment. The manager stated that the candidate was caught stealing from both jobs and is definitely not eligible for rehire.
Not only did the candidate’s credit inquiry uncover previous unhappy employers, but the confirmation of the candidate’s identity provided BackCheck with an alias that turned up an extensive criminal record.
