Accounting Applicant Didn't Take BackCheck Into Account
BackCheck was asked to verify the credentials of an applicant for an accounting position at a large firm. The applicant had claimed to be a CGA and to have received a Bachelor of Accounting Science at a major Canadian university. BackCheck contacted the university and discovered a "Bachelor of Accounting Science" degree program did not even exist at the school nor was the applicant ever a student. Amazed at how an individual could possibly be a CGA without a degree or formal education, BackCheck contacted the CGA association of the applicant's province and further discovered the applicant never received a CGA designation either!
