Accounting Applicant Didn't Take BackCheck Into Account

BackCheck was asked to verify the credentials of an applicant for an accounting position at a large firm. The applicant had claimed to be a qualified member of the Association of Chartered Accountants, and to have received a Bachelor of Accounting Science at a major London university.

BackCheck contacted the university and discovered a "Bachelor of Accounting Science" degree programme did not even exist at the institution nor was the applicant ever a student. BackCheck then contacted the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and further discovered the applicant was not registered there either!
